Faux (no chain) double crochet - Pseudestäbchen - Platstuðlar

In our post about standing dc (link under the picture), we showed a great method to use, when doing a colour change after each row in a flat circle made of double crochet. But when you are doing a unicolour piece, you do not want to be cutting your yarn after each row that way. So what to do? There is a way your work will not get the "ch3-ladder-look" like you see on the picture below, that is actually from a crochet tutorial on coasters. I wish the author who did a great tutorial would have added some informations or links to get rid of this "ladder look".

Imagine a polka dot blanket done this way, wouldn´t you too notice the ladders in every dot? Or is it just me and something nobody else would notice? I say if there is an easy way to get rid of the ladder why not use it. So for all of you that feel the same, lets check out some ch3 cheets.

I used this method for the first dc in my magic ring as well, thought securing the magic ring with a ch1 before doing the faux dc. 

I found a great picture tutorial for crochet turning chain alternatives over at Mrs Micawber´s recipe for happiness. The Video down below is however from Sandra Roarty´s Youtube channel, beside this one, you can find more informational and instructional videos on various crochet techniques on her channel.

Have fun watching the video and trying out this method. Before you go on watching, let me show you my flat circle done with it, and compare it to the ladder picture above. I know I would have to look twice to see where each row starts, if the hook wouldn´t be attached. Just like in the first picture of this post, using the standing double crochet method.

Wenn in einer Farbe gearbeitet wird ist dies besonders praktisch. Für wechselnde Farben in jeder Reihe, wie auf dem ersten Bild in diesem Post zu sehen ist, empfehlt sich die Methode, die darunter gelinkt wird.  

Samantekt:

Algengasta leiðin er að nota 3 loftlykkjur í stað fyrsta stuðuls í umferð. Í fyrri pósti, er sýnt hvernig standandi stuðull er gerður í staðin fyrir loftlykkjurnar 3. Þetta er mjög sniðug aðferð, þegar hver umferð er hekluð í öðrum lit. En þegar unnið er með einn lit, er ekki hagkvæmt að klippa frá og tengja aftur eftir hverja umferð. Þess vegna langaði mig að sýna ykkur nýja aðferð sem er hagkvæmari þegar unnið er með einn lit. Þá er heklaður "platstuðull" í byrjun umferðar í stað loftlykkjanna þriggja.

Kúlur, sívalningar og keilur eru grunnform fyrir amigurumi dúkkur. Það má nota kúlur fyrir hausa og líkama, keilur og sívalninga líka. Sívalningar eru mikið notaðir fyrir hendur og fætur. Ef þú kannt þessi grunnform eru þér allar leiðir færar í að hanna þínar eigin amigurumi frá grunni.

Eigene Amigurumis selbst entwerfen, klingt viel schwerer als es in Wirklichkeit ist. Amigurumis sind meistens aus diesem drei Grundformen gemacht, der Kugel für Köpfe und Körper, dem Zylinder für Körper, Köpfe und vor allem für Arme und Beine und der Kegel für Körper oder Ohren.

Spheres, cylinder and cones are the basic shapes of amigurumi. You can use the sphere for head and body, cylinders too and for the arms and legs, both make a great form for ears, as well as the cone, cone works too as body and so much more. Master these and you will be making your own amigurumis in no time from scratch :)

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ) er japanska og er samsett úr orðunum ami=heklað eða prjónað og nuigurumi=fyllt dúkka. Í seinni tíð hafa amigurumi í heklheiminum notið vaxandi vinsælda og kom fyrsta amigurumi bókin út á íslensku, Heklað fyrir smáfólkið, út fyrir jólin. 

Oftast er byrjað á kúlu fyrir höfuðið á dúkkum og dýrum. Ef þið ráðið við gerð hennar, má breyta henni t.d. með að bæta við umferðum í miðjuna til að gera hana meira sporyskjulaga (sívalningur), eða byrja með meiri spíss í toppinn (keiluform / eggform). Fyrir kúluna gildir töfratalan 6 eins og í gerð flatra hringa með fasta möskum, eins og áður hefur verið fjallað um í Thoughts on Thursday pósti á þessu bloggi. En þá er útaukningin gerð jöfn með því að auka alltaf út um 6 möskur í umferð. Ef gera á stóran haus er betra að dreifa útaukningunni svo hann haldi betur hringforminu sínu og verði ekki sexhyrntur og er það líka útskýrt vel í póstinum. Ef óskað er eftir oddhvassari byrjun þarf að auka minna út. Þannig er keilan t.d. gerð.

Oftast er byrjað á töfralykkju/galdralykkjunni góðu og heklað í spíral, þ.e. umferðunum er ekki "lokað" eftir hverja umferð, heldur haldið áfram. Þá er gott að nota bandspotta í öðrum lit til að merkja umferðina eða notast við prjónamerki eins og t.d. litla bréfaklemmu.

Þegar hvirfillinn er orðinn nógu stór, er næstu umferðir heklaðar með 1 fastamösku í hverja þar til lengdin er komin. Hve margar umferðir eru heklaðar fer eftir hvað höfuðið á að vera sporyskjulegt. Hér eru heklaðar 5 umferðir áður en byrjað er að taka út 6 fastamöskur í hverri umferð, þar til eftir eru 6 lykkjur eða færri og ýmist saumað saman eða byrjað á hálsi og útaukningu fyrir búk. Hér fór ég eftir flata hringnum að umferð 5 með 30 lykkjur í allt áður en ég heklaði í hverja umferð fasta mösku, og tók svo út á sama hátt með að hekla saman 2 lykkjur, 6 sinnum í hverri umferð.

Þetta eru líka hin bestu kisuleikföng svona litlir boltar og má setja litla bjöllu inn í þær eins og ég gerði hér.

Svo má gera dúkku eftir teikningu barnanna ykkar líka.  Sköpunargleðin er án landamæra.

Amigurumi (編みぐるみ) ist japanisch für kleine gehäkelte oder gestrickte Puppen und Tierchen, es wird aus den Wörtern ami was gehäkelt oder gestrickt bedeutet und nuigurumi was so viel wie gefüllte Puppe bedeutet zusammengesetzt. In letzter Zeit ist Amigurumi sehr populär in der Welt des Häkelns und gibt es in vielen verschiedenen Formen.

Die Kugel wird viel benutzt in der Amigurumi Welt, beide als runde, längliche (der Zylinder) oder in abgewanderter Form (der Kegel). Wie der flache Kreis aus festen Maschen, folgt die übliche Kugel auch den selben Regeln und Zauberzahl 6. Auch kann man hier rumspielen und so einen Eiform machen, oder eine längliche Kugel, je nach dem was man damit machen möchte. Hier ist die eigene Vorstellungskraft keine Grenzen gesetzt. Die Kugel alleine ist auch ein tolles Spielzeug für Katzen, mit einer Glocke in der Mitte, wie ich z.B. hier gemacht habe.

Eine eigene Zeichnung, oder eine Zeichnung von ihren Kinder, kann so leicht zum Leben gebracht werden.

Die Abgebildete Kugel ist klein und habe ich nach 5 Reihen zunahme, 5 Reihen normal gehäkelt, d.h. 1 fM in jeder Masche, bevor ich dann wieder pro Runde 6 Maschen abgenommen habe. Wenn ihr aber größere Stücke machen wollt, ist es ein guter Rat die zunahmen aufzuteilen, damit sich kein Sechseckiger Kopf bildet. In dem Thoughts on Thursday Post über flache Kreise und die Zauberzahl 6, wird dies besprochen.

Da der Zauberring oder Fadenkreis, viel verwendet wird in der Amigurumi-Macherei habt ihr auch hier ein link, der diesen gut beschreibt. Noch ein Merkmal für Amigurumis, ist das man hier kontinuierlich häkelt, d.h. in einer Spriale, so werden die Runden nicht "geschlossen", sondern wird der Rundenanfang mit einem Kontrastfaden oder andere Art von Markierung markiert.

Crocheting Amigurumis is very popular in the Crochet World. The name Amigurumi (編みぐるみ) comes from Japan, like so many cute things. It is a combination of two words really the first one ami means crochet or knitted and the second one nuigurumi simply means stuffed doll. There are several books on amigurumis, but it is so simple to make one from scratch, all you need is an idea and sketch. There are few basic forms you need to know to crochet one and it´s a great way to make a kids drawing come to life or your own sketch. 

Most pattern begin with the head that is in a sphere form. Depending on you increases at the beginning and the part where you crochet 1 sc in each stich around and around and your decreases in the end, the look of your sphere is made. Usually it follows the same rules as your flat sc circle, with the magic number 6, as described in a previous Thoughts on Thursday post. You increase by 6 each round, untill big enough, then you do a few rounds without increasing before you start to decrease again by 6 in each round. The one on the picture is done by increasing for the first 5 rounds, then crocheting 5 rounds without increasing, then decreasing by 6 for the next 5 or 6 rounds. Make the increase less than 6 in the beginning like 1 or 3 per round you will get the cone form, or do more rounds of the middle part to get a more cylinder form.

For amigurmis mastering the magic loop/chain is great, and most amigurumis start this way, ´cause this way you will not have a hole on the top of your project where the stuffing could peak out of. As well we are working in a spiral (no closing with slip stitch after each round), so you might want to mark the beginning of your round with a contrast colour yarn piece or use a knitting marker or a paperclip, whatever suits you the best.

Í síðustu fimmtudagspóstum (Thoughts on Thursday) töluðum við um töfralykkjur, töfratölu og flata hringi. Í dag höldum við áfram á þessum nótum og komum nú að "fegrunaraðgerðum" í gerð þeirra. Eins og á myndinni hér að ofan, virðist hringurinn vera fullkominn, og ekki er hægt að ímynda sér eða sjá, hvar hver röð byrjar. Þið eruð eflaust að leita og leita að loftlykkjunum þremur sem byrja hverja röð. Ég gerði einn röndóttan til að sýna þetta betur. En oft getur verið leiðigjörn keðjan frá miðju í gegnum allan hringinn, sérstaklega sýnilegri á stuðlahekli og með grófu garni og í stórum verkum. Það eru samt bara við með fullkomnunaráráttu sem sjáum það, en það er æðislegt að vera búinn að læra aðferð sem hindrar þesslags keðjur. Ihr erinnert euch bestimmt an das untere Bild von dem Stäbchen Kreis. Da fällt die 3-Luftmaschenkette am Anfang jeder Reihe auf. Je nach Wolle, sieht man diese besser oder schlechter. Vergleiche dieses Bild mit dem Anfangsbild in diesem Post. Fällt was auf? Ja, das erste Bild zeigt keine 3-Luftmaschenketten auf, es ist so fast unmöglich zu sehen wann die neue Reihe anfängt und das mit dem Farbwechsel noch dazu. Das Bild habe ich keinerlei manipuliert, es gibt eine Methode, die dies unsichtbar macht, und dadurch wird dein Kreis viel schöner

Under the first picture of this post, I ask you, if you see where the rows start? You might have been searching for the chain-3 start, and not found it. I promice you I didn´t photoshop this picture. The chain-3 method is the "normal" way to start a new row, but it tends to leave a visible ugly track of chains throughout your work, like you see in the picture below, taken from our last Thoughts on Thursday post. For some this doesn´t bother them, and depending on yarn you are using, it is not always this visible. But for those who want the "perfect" look, the standing dc join method is something for you.

En hvernig er þetta hægt, að gera stuðul út í loftið? Þetta hlýtur að hafa verið photoshoppuð mynd hjá henni, hugsa kanski sumir núna ;) En það er mjög einföld og skemmtileg aðferð. Ég vitna aftur í Tamöru af Moogly en hún skýrir þetta svo vel í eftirfarandi videoi og í myndmáli á blogginu sínu. 

Statt die gewohnten 3 Luftmaschen am Anfang zu machen, macht man sofort ein Stäbchen, was genauso aussieht wie die folgenden Stäbchen, und so unsichtbar ist. Es ist keine Magie, sondern eine einfache Methode. Tamara auf Moogly zeigt dies sehr gut in folgendem Video.

Do you notice how the first stich looks exactly like the rest of them? No chain-3, just starting with a double crochet. But how is that even possible, and if it must be too complicated, I´ll just stick with my own old way. You might be thinking. But it really is soooo simple, and the result is just stunning. Genau wie bei den flachen Kreis aus festen Maschen als auch bei den flachen Kreis aus halben Stäbchen, verhält sich der flache Kreis aus Stäbchen, nur hier werden immer 12 Zunahmen pro Reihe gemacht. Daher ist die Zauberzahl für Stäbchen 12. Bitte schaut kurz rüber zu denjenigen Post für feste Maschen, das gleiche wie dort gilt auch hier für diesen.
